 Inland Waterways Association

The local IWA Notts & Derbyshire Branch area covers the River Trent from Cromwell Lock (where it ceases to be tidal) to Derwentmouth, all of the Erewash Canal, and the Trent & Mersey Canal from Derwentmouth to the Dove Aqueduct. The Branch holds monthly social meetings between October and April, and evening walks or visits in May and June. Our social meetings and walks are not restricted to IWA members, we would be delighted to welcome anyone with an interest in the inland waterways. We also organise other events as the opportunity arises, such as Canal Cleanup days. We try to attend local canal festivals and events with our sales & information stall to promote the branch and the Association.
