Lock Cottage renovation gains a commendation in Waterways Renaissance Awards
The renovation work was carried out in March and April 2012 and concerned the chimney stack and guttering (Photos of this work can be seen further down this page). The award ceremony for this achievement took place on Thurs 23rd of May at the ICC Birmingham.
For the past 11 years the awards have recognised over 120 exceptional projects that have transformed the nations rivers and canals into exiting places. Led by an independent panel of experts from the envoironmental, engineering, architecture and regeneration sectors, the awards are highly regarded across the UK. These shine the spotlight on the work done by volunteers, local communities and public, private and voluntary organisations to keep our canals and rivers special.
This is the second time we have been commended at these awards, the other being Last year for restoration work to the Nottingham canal swing bridge at Langley Mill in 2011.(Photos at bottom of gallery page)
