L.M. Boat co. was formed in 1974 because of British Waterways insistance that the rent must be paid on a commercial basis. Eight members of the ECP&DA formed the company, which then constructed the dry dock & restored 100 metres of canal beyond. The company still operates today under the name of Langley Mill Boatyard Ltd. and is run by Pete Newman, one of the original members. Services include: moorings, dry dock, repairs & blacking & pump out.
